Been holding pretty steady for a while now. I still think they are in good shape as long as they don't drop much further. One or two games will make a big difference in draft position this season.

Cleveland, Orlando, Phoenix and Detroit seem to be in full tank mode. Charlotte has surprisingly won a few and could actually end up not being last, which is pretty surprising.

Not that I am advocating Tank mode, but I have completely mentally checked out of this season and to go through another shite show season and finish 8th or 9th would kind of suck. I'd like to be in 5th place, "ahead" of Detroit.

But honestly, this isn't last season. There are no amazing prospects so it doesn't matter all that much I suppose.

I was wanting wins until we started playing guys who will not be on this team next year most likely. I see no more need to develop chemistry with them. I hope we lose out

The lowest draft position the team could have is #5...There is no chance to catch Charlotte, Orlando, Cleveland, or Phoenix.

...Cleveland and Phoenix sure do know how to go into tank mode.

Cavs are 0-10 lately, and Suns are 1-9.

That leaves Sacramento, Washington, Minnesota, Detroit, and Toronto.

I think the Hornets win 3 more games considering the schedule and their road winning percentage...could only be 1 or 2 wins, depending on if Dallas is still alive for our final 2 games. Could be more wins, but @Lakers and @Utah will be damn near impossible to win, and I don't like our chances of winning 4 of 5 with Dallas twice, the Clippers, and @Sacramento left.

Hornets final record would be ~ 29-53

It's very close with Washington and Toronto. I think if they each win 2 out of their final 7, we stay below them...I think that's gonna happen.

Minnesota's playing better lately, and they just need a few wins...I think they stay above us.

Sacramento's been playing OK too, but they have a very tough closing schedule....don't know how that will play out. We play them at their house.

...long shot at falling behind Detroit, but their schedule is easy....maybe they go on a run.

Best case scenario, we get the #5 pick (if don't win lottery).

...the #6 or #7 pick is the most likely scenario, imo.

Worst case scenario (draft-wise only), Hornets go on a run, win 5+ games to finish the season, and wind up with the #10 pick (or 11?).

I was as anti-tank as anyone last year and this year, but I wouldn't mind this except for at least one or both of the remaining home games.

We just need to stay in the right draft tier. Last year we fell just outside of the 2nd tier players at 10. The 3rd tier is where maybe 2 of the next 15 picks will be anything more than a rotation guy. Last year that 3rd tier started at 10, this year that 3rd tier may start as low as 7-8. We definitely don't want to win many more games and we really want to catch Detroit if at all possible, even if that means losing out. It will suck if 2 years in a row Detroit got the last good player the pick before us.

I get it. I just don't have a ton of confidence in any of the guys on the draft board.

Detroit @ Cleveland - push

I think we need to root for Detroit here. With only a few games left Detroit might pass NOLA in the standings, but it seems really unlikely that Cleveland wins out and goes ahead of the Hornets.

Just a reminder . . . the final standings are not necessarily the final results of the ping pong balls. As last year demonstrated.

Okay. My words of wisdom for tonight.

Was hoping for a Detroit win (still possible) and a bad game from Drummond so AD could win the rookie PER battle, but he's having a monster game.

Detroit wins, so we have the same number of wins (they have one more loss). I like Rivers's chances to be a solid player, but we were one draft position away from having what looks like could be the best PF and best C in the NBA 2 or 3 years from now (and what would probably be the best backup 4/5 combo in Ryno/Lopez).

If Detroit wins and we lose, that's another full game we go ahead.

Doubt we win another game

No Davis and we're playing the Clip Show and Mavs x 2?

Yeah, I think we're done for the year.

I just hope they beat the Bobcats, as it is iffy they beat the Sixers and doubtful they beat the Nets unless they totally mail it in for the last game of the season.

We are currently in sole possession of 5th with a 1 game lead on Detroit and a 1.5 game lead on the Kings.

To move up into the 4th spot, we need Cleveland to win all their games left. Philly and Charlotte are very possible. Miami would also be possible IF they rested their starters for the 2nd to last game.
