Every sport, every year that doesn't make it always has fans yelling, "One more year."

The LSU basketball team is the perfect example of how "One more year" is truth. It is the reason I love my Tigers.

Johnny Jones inherited this club from Trent Johnson, who probably should just become an NBA 2k13 coach and quit trying to enforce his style on players and teams that just don't quite fit.

JJ was handed the keys to a promising future and within months of his arrival, has made more positive moves for a program that was on the verge of destruction than the previous few before him.

This thread is about JJ and the team that will be playing next season. Am I the only one that thinks we will be a preseason top five in the SEC next year?

2013 Roster

Anthony Hickey - Fastest guy on the court most days. Has the ability to change a game with his quickness by forcing turnovers and finding the open man in the paint. He has become one of the better PG's LSU has had in recent memory for one reason, he plays hard. He plays harder than I have seen anyone else play under TJ in the past few years. He invigorates the offense and adds a spark that we have been missing.

Andre Stringer - Sophomore slump. Has to be the reason he hasn't truly opened up the floor with his sick range. If Hickey can jack up a shot from the timeline, Stringer can. JJ didn't pull the reigns on him just yet so don't think he is being coached to stop shooting. He has range and it can be lethal at times. His speed compliments Hickey and makes them a pretty dangerous 1-2 punch.

Charles Carmouche - This is why I watch NCAA basketball. This kid played at UNO, transferred to Memphis, and ended up in Baton Rouge to play ball but also to get a Master's degree in HR Mgmt. He will be missed next season with all the newbies coming in.

Johnny O'Bryant III - This kid is a beast. If he was three inches taller, he would be in the running for NPOY. If you don't agree, go watch tape. He is a barreling 6'9" PF that can dominate in the paint. He can take over a game with his strength and inside game (remember the USCe game?) He will be playing in the NBA within the next few years, I guarantee it. He is a better version of Brandon Bass.

Andrew Del Piero - He is tall and has long arms.

Shane Hammink and Corban Collins - They will be a bigger part of the offense next season and should both average 6-8 ppg.

Jalen Courtney - I feel that without JOB around, he would be the starting PF and prob make a few big plays every now and then.

Malik Morgan - Shows signs of awesome but leaves us wanting him to take over the game sometimes. If he had the same confidence he had in HS with his scoring, he will be a 18ppg type guy.

Recruits coming in for next season

Jarrell Martin - Dude is a freak. He is 6'7" barefoot and tops out around 6'9" in shoes. He can dunk, block, run, and rebound. If he can improve his outside shooting, this guy could help bring this team to another Final Four. Maybe not next year but he should bring us enough help to get us to 24 wins next season. It might sound crazy but with his size and mid-range game, he will be a beast on JJ's team.

Darcy Malone - A TRUE 7' Center. He was never in a band or ever picked up a tuba. He has a jump shot too.

Tim Quarterman - This guy seems to have been lost in the shuffle. He is one of the tallest high school PG's in the country right now at 6'5". He is a PG even though some places list him as a SF.

Overall, this team could do some damage in the SEC next season. It will be great to see them make a run this year with 2 games to play and the SEC tourney on deck so let's just wait and see.

The point of this? To show the love for the LSU basketball team that lost today in Missouri, a place that the Mizzou Tigers have only lost once in two years. They showed signs of what we will see more of, NEVER GIVING UP.

I can't wait to see us make a run to finish off the 2013 season.

Wouldn't it be great to sneak into the tourney after winning the SEC tournament?

In the sense that he took over LSU which has a rich basketball history, I would agree. But LSU basketball was pretty down when he took over. He has done a phenomenal job regardless

So you're saying that if JOBIII were a 7 footer playing the 4 he'd be a NPOY candidate?

Let's just be real, a legit 7 footer is hard to find to play the 5, much less the 4.

My bad, I thought you were looking ahead to next year. Regardless, I'm as excited as you are.

I am. I am trying to show that we are going to be alright for the next few years under JJ. He is building a foundation right now and his recruiting class is the reason we shall succeed once again.
