I've never been up there. Are there ample things to do in the area other than just fish? We're thinking about going with some friends of ours and renting a cabin or something. Any suggestions?

They have nice golf courses if you enjoy that.

Cypress Bend

You can also rent boats / Yaks / canoes /

You are close to a national forest so there will be hiking as well. Finding Bigfoot was in the area recently so maybe you can do some Squach hunting if thats your thing.

There really isn't anything else to do around there. There are no towns, except maybe Natchitoches, to visit. They have a golf course on one of the resorts. There is Hodges Gardens to visit.

I wouldn't go to Toledo without fishing.

You can camp. And you can find a buttload of arrow heads if you know what to look for. And that fort is down there.

But it's mostly just fishin'

Not since Ethels ran all the whores out

Seriously, FISH. The golf course is ok but fees high even for this time of year. Played in October and course was better than before but still not worth it
