the pres probably knows that the sequester amounts to nothing ($ wise) in the end no matter if it goes through or not. He's just playing politics. If we go over and something bad happens it'll be the repubs fault. If we go over and something good happens, he'll claim that his actions after the sequester made it happen. If we go over and nothing really changes, then he'll manufacture something and blame the repubs.

though he and the republicans are no better than the democrats, he has somewhat of a point. the senate simply isn't doing anything. Won't bring anything up for even a vote in a leg of gov that they control. why?
It amazes me that the general populace really believes that the republican house are the obstructionists.

this won't happen. they will target the cuts to make it as painful as it can be because they know "the people" will buy it as the republican's fault.
20 years from now this will be an amazing case study of marketing and the power of manipulation.

Because the MSM(the propoganda arm of the DNC) tells them that is the case, they do not go look at FACTS themselves. The masses do not go looking for the facts for themselves at all. They have thier means being met from "Obama bucks and watching American Idol and wrestling".

If the Dems and Obama truly wanted to compromise then they would use the bills passed by the GOP as a negotiating platform.
Instead they keep telling the GOP to pass legislation.
If the GOP keeps passing bills isn't that akin to negotiating against yourself?
Boehner needs to keep the message simple, tell anyone and everyone that asks that we have passed legislation to offset issues caused by Sequester, and sent it to the Senate, and make sure it is understood that he is ready at any time to continue the legislative process as soon as the ?Senate acts.

True. But is this the best vernacular by Boehner? His cursing didn't stop Obamacare. His antics look smaller by the day. He needs to go.

This. I have stated many times, the real problem with our nation is liberal progressive Dems controlling the narrative through an obliging media. Basically conservatives need to take control of their share of: the education system, news outlets, the movie/TV industry and internet sources. The problem of course is conservatives by definition of fiscal conservative tend to be attracted to business and occupations in general not associated with information control.

You're a free market guy, right? How is it that the American media (and world media for that matter) is dominated by some vast left wing conspiracy?
To someone who lives in Bunkie, Louisiana, is the media liberal? Probably. But is it to those who live in NY, LA, etc.?
When you're standing in California, it's true that almost everyone is to the east of you, but it doesn't mean everyone is in the east.

I agree, Boehner has failed the GOP miserably.
We need to get our message out and the messenger is important.
We don't need to be answering questions about how many babies are we killing; we need to be answering questions as to waht we've done and what the responsibilties of the other side are.
When you pass budgets, when you pass legislation in the HOR, the Senate is supposed to act. They can vote and kill, they can vote and amend and then pass, but they aren't supposed to do nothing.
Same thing with Obama. He is supposed to submit budgets on time. He can find timne for golf, for lecturing the governors, and for scaring the folks; but why can't he find time to do his job?
We do need professionals and polished spokesmen at the top. Boehner isn't that type of guy.

While you are correct, just because everyone is more liberal than bunkie doesn't mean that the ideology is good. The vest majority of the media and apparently nation have an idea for the future of our country that strips liberty, punishes hard work and innovation, and will cause our country to fail.
The US is bound to fall from the top one day. But for the life of me I can't understand how the left and the right don't see that what they are doing is speeding up the process...

So what you're saying is that it's the liberal media's fault because the conservatives won't join in the marketplace with media of their own?
That doesn't make much sense.
It looks more like the problem is that the conservatives won't join in the media marketplace to get their message out.

If the sequester happens and the sun comes up the following day, it will cause a lot of people to ask "why can't we cut more?" That will be bad for Obama. Democrat leadership doesn't want the leeches to know they can survive with less government.

Are you under the impression there are an infinite number of broadcast licenses?
Even beyond that, looking at content providers... there aren't that many. AP, Reuters, NBC, ABC, CBS, NYT, FOX, and that's about it.

First, we aren't talking about local media. Local media doesn't typically cover DC. But most importantly, journalism is supposed to be objective. Regardless of location or audience.
