Episode 17 is pretty stupid. It doesnt even make sense why mechanical pokemon would act like that.

Episode 18 leads me to believe that there isnt an overall plot to the story and that the creators have run out of ideas of where to go next.

The worst arc in anime history continues.
And somehow Giant pokemon are back. WE JUST HAD AN EPISODE WITH GIANT POKEMON.
AGAIN????
And of course the whol thing gets resolved some bullshite way.
Pikachu rides pidgeotto and reasons with a wild fricking pokemon.
And ash doesnt catch shite

Ash really is the worst Pokemon trainer of all time. Gary may have been a douche, but he actually knew what he was doing.
Ash is the Pokemon trainer equivalent of a magikarp.

This was one of the saddest episodes to me as a kid. Made me tear up a bit.
Anyway, Ash is such a shitty trainer that his butterfree cant find a mate because it is such a pussy. Well thats what you get for having it evolve asap instead of training it more first.
And why does ash give a shite about this pokemon "having babies" and none of the others matter.
Anyway, team rocket actually does a good job this time capturing the pokemon. And now they use sledge hammers on pokemon instead of actually fighting with their shitty ones. So they finallygot some sense.
Then butterfree keps using tackle on a fricking rope trap instead of USING frickING BITE, YOU HAVE TEETH, WTF.
Fortunately, we learn an important lesson. With enough brute strength, you can woo any whore.
Then butterfree has to leave forever because.....?????? Crossing the ocean???????
