Now that the free agent deadline has passed it has been a good day for the Hornets. All of the Pelicans Free Agent target where not traded.

Josh Smith
Tyreke Evans
Brandon Jennings
Al Jefferson
Paul Millsap
Nikola Pekovic

I'd like to have Pekovic but he's an RFA right? I imagine he'll get Asik money or near it.

Jennings is also an RFA so we aren't getting him either.

The rest of them I can live without.

Josh Smith - UFA, will be in Houston
Tyreke Evans - RFA, doubt they let him go cheap
Brandon Jennings - RFA, already said they would match
Al Jefferson - Stranger things have happened
Paul Millsap - Doesnt really fit
Nikola Pekovic - RFA, will be top 5 C expensive

If they take a SF(Otto Porter) in the draft, I can see them making a run at Jefferson

If the price is right I'd look at about all of them except Millsap. Probably not Jennings either. Also not sure Smith fits in here with the depth at PF. Not sure he can really play SF.

If Tyreke and play a little SF like has occasionally in Sacramento I wouldn't mind looking at him.

Jefferson would be awesome

And I have a rager just thinking about getting Pekovic. One of my favorite players, and a Pekovic/Lopez/Smith rotation at C with Davis/Anderson at PF is a pretty fricking great front court rotation.

I think the 1st thing will be draft Portor or Alex Lin
I think Smith, Pekovic & Jefferson will be the top targets.
Finally make the Gordon for Thompson & Richard Jefferson deal this summer

These are HT wants. Al is the only guy on that list worth serious moves. Im pretty sure Monty would want players like bynum, cousins, cp3, howard...! You know, real franchise players.

We got 3 RFA's last offseason, 2 from other teams.

So, don't write off.being about to get a RFA.

Josh Smith- For a max deal? No thank you
Tyreke Evans- At a reasonable price, could be a nice Gordon replacement. Doubt the Kings let him get away but perhaps a trade this summer?
Brandon Jennings- For 8 figures? No thank you
Al Jefferson- really a PF and plays no defense
Paul Millsap- hard worker. has played the 3 and is developing a 3pt shot but not really a fit
Nikola Pekovic- Would be a nice get- beast on the offensive glass- but I doubt Minnesota lets him get away

If any of these guys are in your big 3, you don't have a big 3.

IMO they will make reasonable signings this summer for depth and look to add a core piece via trade with a team at or near the tax line.

Just because they have cap space for a max player doesn't mean they have to spend all the money in one spot

No, these are legitimate options that the Hornets may have a shot at

we don't live in your fantasy world, in which Andrew Bynum's knees arent 46 years old, and CP3 is leaving L.A...

I'm pretty sure CP3 is the only one of those guys I'd want at this point.

Exactly. Overspending is very, very dangerous for a small market team.

I get your point, but the situations seem different with "big name" targets.

Yeah we're a young building team but we'll pay these guys who want more than their worth. Ok! And why in the frick am i fantasizing. If the above list is better to you than the allstar guys then idk what to say to ya. Bynum will be ballin next year and at a very productive level. The best fa's are trying to will their teams through the playoffs but will likely leave that team. Thats why there was not talk of them this week.

And our fans are worried about Gordon's knee? At least we don't have to worry about Gordon earning any long suspensions for going retard.

Anderson was a surprising get, though not a big name. We'll see.

We have more tools and a better setup, tax rules scaring some teams... I am just not ruling RFA's off out-of-hand.

One league source Wednesday night said of Gordon, "nobody wants him." The most prevalent speculation on Wednesday centered around a possible Gordon deal to the Golden State Warriors in return for Klay Thompson.
