Drive by Post - Regarding the school bus driver strike in New York

No link but heard on the radio that it cost $21 million to transport kids to school while the bus drivers were on strike. However, they saved $81 million b/c they didn't have to pay the bus drivers.

Haven't heard about this. Have they settled and...knowing the savings...why would they re-hire any of them?

They shouldn't, but it's NY, you know that they will.

They spend over a billion dollars a year getting kids to and from school? According to this LINK they have about 600,000 students using the transportation system. That comes out to roughly $1666.67 per student. I think I have figured out where they could save some money.

With there only being about 180 school days a year that works out to about $9.25 per student per day. I'm in the wrong business.
