I've always used Zebco 33s and 22s. They are fine for fishing off a pier and whatnot, but I'm looking for something a little nicer particularly something better at casting. Spin cast, spinning, closed faced, doesn't matter. What you got?

I want one that isn't going to fall apart after a couple of uses. I usually keep a Zebco in my boat when bass fishing in case I run across a spot chock full of perch an the like, but half the time when I pull the Zebco out it has crapped out.

shakespere is making some fairly decent rods, good luck on the reels, they seem to be all the same.

Browning has an awesome reel for an ultra light setup. Most people don't want to spend much on an ultra light. I hav a browning on a bionic blade rod from BPS I think the reel was $30.00 and the rod was $80.00

I have had a Browning ultra light for a little over a year now and its great. I think I got the combo from BPS for around $35

My dad always bought Zebcos for Ultra Light, but they seem to be crap now a days.

We've bought a couple of Abumatics and they've been very good reels.

I never used any Browning fishing gear but may have to go run by BPS and check their rigs out. I see them pretty frequently but never gave much thought to buying one.

I only use the ultralight reel from browning, it has been a great reel. I didn't care for the rod that came with it but they do sell the reel by itself. I bought a bionic blade rod for the setup.

Ultra lights are the one thing that I'll by a matched combo. $50-60 bucks will get you a nice little spinning combo.

Like all spinners, if you close the bail manually it will last much longer.

this is the best ultra light spincast i could find. Its what a like to use when fishing with a cork and crickets. Its all metal and seems much more durable than the regular Micro 11's you get at BPS
zebco platinum ti 11

as far as spinning goes, I have a couple

I have this browning combo, browning 2001 superlight

browning has came out with a new model, browning superlight combo this one will be on sale for 40 bucks in store at BPS starting Friday, I plan on picking one up

now, my favorite is a shimano sienna 500 paired with a shimano sellus 5'6" rod

Yes. I prefer falcon cara rods but I have a few bass pro rods and my spinning tackle and they work great.
