Does Charles take over for Jim when he retires?

I hope not. I love Charlie in baseball but he doesn't have a good PBP voice, especially for faster games.

Listening to him today really had me wondering if he could do football and basketball.

Charlie had better show a little more motivation. He was clearly mailing it in on the postgame show last season. If you don't want to put the effort in to your job, find another one.

For baseball maybe. He would be awful doing football and basketball. LSU needs to hire a big time professional football only guy for football.

I believe he caught someone in the athletic department in bed with a child to get the job he has now. Its more exciting to watch grass grow then listen to his monotone voice.

Like you know what you are talking about.

at a bear minimum, they need a different person for basketball. Doing all 3 should be a thing of the past.

If by mailing it in, he means researching the team, watching the game intently, and reporting what he sees, all while dealing with the dumbass callers, then I hope he mails it in for years to come

I really enjoy Hanagriff on baseball. I have no idea how he would do on the other spots but would be interested in finding out.

As for needing a separate person for each sport...I don't know. I think the only person currently in place who could do all three is Patrick Wright. I have said all along I would like the next person to be someone with local or LSU ties and not someone farmed in from the big city somewhere. I don't know what the local answer would be, aside from PW

I love listening to Charlie on the radio, regardless of sport. The guy knows his stuff and brings a lot of great info into his commentary

Does Tim Brando do play by play? He would be great and loves LSU.

Tim Brando's head wouldn't fit inside the PMAC. Fact.
