Of all things, there is a Spec's in Brenham. There are much bigger / better Spec's in Houston, of course, but it might be worth a tumble if Brenham is your only Texas stop.
And yes, Blue Bell.

Had dinner at Nathan's BBQ. I usually try and focus on the positive side of things but this was a disappointment on just about every front. Had brisket and ribs and both were bland. Heck, even the sweet tea was bland.
Would not recommend and no plans to go back.

If you are going to Austin skip the Specs in Brenham and go to the big one on 290 in Austin
