The Allman Brothers band thread a week ago about Live at Filimore East got me intrigued so I listened to the whole album and absolutely loved it! When I was younger, before I started playing guitar, and before I found my love and passion for music I hated listening to live songs, I always wanted the studio version because it "sounded the best".. but now that I'm older I understand the intimacy and emotion that live performances can evoke.

That being said, list me your top 5 live performance albums so I can start listening to some of them this weekend.

Happy friday music board

I could fill this list up with just Phish but I only picked one by them for practical reasons

Sam Cooke- Live at Harlem Square Club 1963 Bring It On Home

The Meters and the JB Horns- Live at the Moonwalker 1991 Pass the Peas

Phish-really hard to pick just one but I'll go with: Live NYE 1995 Chalkdust Torture

The Who-Live at Leeds Heaven and Hell

Grateful Dead- Live Cornell 5.8.77 Scarlet->Fire

I'd don't do too many live albums, but that I've heard:

Talking Heads- The Name of this Band is Talking Heads
Built to Spill- Live
Nirvana- Unplugged
Wilco- Kicking in the Television
The Knife- Silent Shout: An Audio Visual Experience
