Although I like Les as a person and have given him credit for his record at LSU, I have been one of his biggest critics on his stubborn ways and lack of substance in his explanations. Nothing less than change of this nature in the off-season would have been acceptable IMHO but I never thought Les would commit to it. I don't know if Cam will work out or not but on paper it looks like one Hell of a hire and wish him the best here, for how long it will be-who knows? But I have a new respect for Les in this regard for taking a chance and it appears that change will finally come on offense, even with Les's 'input'. Cam appears to be his own man and it will become HIS offense. Well that felt goooood...

I agree, but he waits too long. Should have hired a proven DC after Pelini took the job at Nebraska and he had just gotten a big raise. Waited too long to get rid of Crowton and Stud. Stud I can understand letting him go though with Krags being diagnosed with Parkinson's. We did well in 2011, although I know the d and special teams created a lot of points and opportunities for the O.

That's a great way to end up with shitty coordinators. If there's not a knock it out the park pick like Chavis or Cameron available at that time, Miles prefers to do a stopgap year while he waits for the right one to open up. Then he pounces on him. We thought we had that with Kragthorpe but that didn't work out so he did what he could and waited till a good one opened up.

He thinks long term. That's how dynasties get built. Not by hiring whoever is available that day just so you can say you hired somebody.

LSU will still be in the 90's in total offense! Leslie will give CC about 20 plays to call from and it will still be the same song and dance.

Right, just like how he tells Chavis what to do on Defense.

I will give him credit on that one, you're right! That move has saved his job at LSU. Will he do the same thing on offense? Only time will tell. I hope so.

Miles corrected the Malveto mistake right a way. Crowton had a record setting season in 2007. 2008, 2009, & 2010 was a steady decline. He gave Crowton 3 years to correct the issues on offense. Probably, one too many years. 2011 he hired Kragthorpe but he became ill, so Stud had to take over. My biggest problem is with Miles meddling if that is the case. So people saying that Miles won't make a change are delusional. He has made changes. Only this time, I think it a homerrun just like Chavis.

i got news for you. our offense is gonna look the same (or pretty much so). it is my hope that the execution and play calling will improve and i believe it will. having stud as full time ol coach will also help as we are gonna have to coach up some babies in the next coupla years as they will have to step in early.
