Trading Buckey & how he is similar to cp3

Is it just me, or does anyone else think trading Gordon would be silly?

You ask why I would think that, and it is because he has us in the same situation CP3 has us in. CP3 had his impending free agency, & Gordon has his injury history.

Like CP3 & his "trade demands", Gordon's injury automatically gives the other team the upper hand in any deal. He's under contract, he hasn't bitched publicly about being here, so why are people so quick to dump him? How many times are we gonna go through this shit?

What prompts this is the shitty media members of New Orleans on twitter. McNamara thinking we can get Klay Thompson for Gordon? Fletcher mackel proposing a deal for Kevin love? What the frick kind of leverage do they think we have?

Yeah, those guys are idiots. We just have to hope that next year Gordon is healthy and productive. We'd get pennies on the dollar for Gordon. It's stupid to even consider.

Right...trading him right now benefits what?

I don't understand the push to deal Gordon before this trade deadline. Especially by McNamara. No wonder he only has 400 twitter followers

The possible insanity of the other GMs and/or owners is leverage.

Problem being that most of the GMs I could see us out-gambiting are the ones who have no assets and/or no cap room.

For example, I could see Mark Cuban going hard after Gordon if he misses out on Dwight this off-season. Problem being that Dallas' only assets are an aging Dirk, OJ Mayo with an expiring contract, and a likely high 1st that can't be traded until after they make the pick due to the Stepien Rule.

Anyone who thinks we should trade him (at least this year) has no idea how the NBA works. Could the right deal come along? Sure. But it's highly unlikely that we get fair value in return. So it's silly to even consider it.

Certainly no leverage this year with Gordon being able to veto trades, but the only thing you really need for leverage is multiple serious bidders. It doesn't matter that other teams think we have to dump Gordon, it matters how much teams are willing to compete with each other to get him. The CP3 trade was between LA and LA, but had Golden State been in the mix maybe they'd have pushed the Clippers more.

Some sportswriters are claiming that Dallas and Houston will both make a run at him this off-season if they miss out on Dwight Howard.

Golden State and Indiana have also been mentioned as possibilities.

People are still butt hurt about the free agency ordeal so logic goes out the window. People talk about how trading him will give us salary cap space but what's the purpose of having money to spend if we still can't sign anyone with it. We are a small market and the highest profile player I have seen us sign is Ryan Anderson and he said no one else pursued him. Point is we need a risk like Gordon to work out because the chances of us attracting a talent such as his through free agency is not good.

I don't think most realistic fans want him traded now.

After this season, if he plays well and doesn't act like a total fricking pussy for a few games in a row? Yea, trade the dude.

Seems like most people just think that he will never be good to have on our team and want to get rid of him as soon as possible to just get anything in return. Thankfully Demps is more patient than our fans and won't let us get fricked over for emotional reasons.

Why? Wouldn't that be the ideal reason to keep him?

Where did I say I wanted him traded now?

Traded? Yes, absolutely, and the sooner the better IMO. But if we get no return for him now, which is likely, I can wait until the season is over.

I still hate the little pussies guts though, and I'm through trying to cheer for him anymore.

With most players, yes.

Not with this dude though.

His value would just continue to decrease until he is fully healthy and starts averaging 20ppg.

We should not trade EG right now. First, we would get pennies on the dollar in return. Second, we took the risk and signed him so we have to weather this injury and see if he can come out on the other end. We are so much better with him on the floor and the record proves it. I can't stand the people who say, "He is such a bitch and puss, we should trade him!" I care about W's and L's and we get a ton more W's with him.

Trading Gordon this year makes no sense, and the Warriors GM should be fired if he gave up Klay Thompson for Gordon.

McNamara isn't true media. He is a fan blogger, they can afford to throw shite against the wall and see if it can stick.

I think that is over played.

There truly has to be a perfect fit by 2 or more teams. One that specifically fits the hornets needs both talent wise & financially.

Even with that being said, the biggest thing is finding a team enamored with Gordon. Then finding a 2nd or 3rd to amp up the bidding. Good luck with that
