Here is the deal: The democrats have successfully won the political demographics war. In so doing, they can use the votes gained as a result of demographics to paint the picture of a mandate. A vote is a vote...so maybe Carney is right...this is the mandate and this is the nation we now live in wherein government is the answer, spending is the answer, fiscal responsibility is not good and you are a racist if you believe otherwise. These are the prevailing thoughts nationally. Deal with it.

Obama seems to think the overwhelming majority of Americans support him. That is just not true. He has no mandate. 52-53% of voters. That leaves a lot of people who do not want these policies and wanted something similar to Romney. Those people deserve a vote and a voice.

You have to study the vote...Obama won the majority of THOSE WHO VOTED. Less voted than in the previous election and less voted for Obama this election than the last. Hardly a mandate. How else to you reconcile his dropping popularity and low approval ratings with the election?

That is true. But, to think that removes the 47%'s voice that voted for Romney is absurd. The more the Left tries to act as if it is God and has some mandate the more this country will be torn apart.

Welcome to democracy. Its a flawed system that everyone views as the savior to all of life's problems. It's great as long as you're in the majority.

Obama's state of the union could have been delivered by Hugo Chavez.

For real though, rubies speech sounded like a word for word copy of a Romney stump speech.

Being in certain minorities isn't so bad in this democracy. We have plenty of Minority Rules issues.

This WH is the sleeziest bunch of worthless POS's we have ever had in our federal government. No doubt in my mind. All they know how to do is campaign. No substance. No leaderhship. All campaign, all the time.

He knows this. Which is why they are in constant campaign mode. They still have a ton of people to convince. So since Obama beat Romney, they'll just say every potential opponent is the same as Mitt Romney, since they already beat him once.
