I am trying to activate my wife's iPad that I just got her.
Let me preface this by saying that I don't use apple so I am unfamiliar with how the set-up usually goes for their devices but I couldn't get it to connect to the wifi, nor could it use the cellular system to sign-in with her apple id. Then the screen the went completely blue and froze and wouldn't do anything, nor turn off.
I finally got it to power off by holding the sleep & home buttons, but now it won't come back on at all. WTF is up with this. Anyone have similar issues?

waffle, setting up an iOS device is about as idiot proof as humanly possible. If yours does not have a nifty little setup prompt to walk you through the process when you first opened it, there's probably something wrong. Take it to the apple store and they'll get you fixed up.
