Scott has such a large readership he could sell adds, pay himself a good salary, and focus on
the dailey article.
There is nothing wrong with making a profit and doing well.

His dad was dead set against the pay model because of the readers.
I doubt he will ever change from donations because of that.

Nothing wrong with making a living and he could concentrate on the article.

The dandy one wasn't about making money. He was about talking about the two things he loved: LSU football and his family.

Many of his readers are rabid LSU fans who can't afford the pay models. Myself included, although I contribute every year the amount would not buy me a yearly subscription. I read his site before I do anything else in the morning. I had great respect for Dandy Don and Scot hs earned respect also.

I'm not suggesting making readers pay . He could make money selling adds on the site. Just advertising.

This. Dandydon.com is the premier LSU site in my mind. I love it!!! Thankfully, Scott has continued the legacy. Look, if we all contributed $20/year he would have plenty, plenty money with over 10k readers. Pay the man his due!!
He shouldn't have to charge us, we should do it on our own like he humbly requests. That site is totally worth $1.50 a month to me!!! Hell, people pay $100+ a yr for rivals.com and such.

well, he does sell ads...there are typically 3-5 of them down the right side of the page. I don't think they were there when don did the site.
I don't see anything wrong with it as long as he is careful to avoid viruses and also disallows those with pop ups or talking ads....

I agree that he should keep it like it is. I read it every day and have sent in a small amount the past few years. His model of asking for a small donation entices me to contribute. I think I sent $40 this year. I appreciate the site but probably would go elsewhere if he charged. I don't pay for any other site.
