C'mon man. One subpar live performance and he doesn't have talent? He's not like Akon or T-Pain. He's not an autotune guy. The guy has paid his dues too. He was ghost writer for a lot of popular artists out there today for the last several years and outside of his performance Sunday night he's done everything to take full advantage of his opportunity.

It's a legit question.

Where's the talent?

No it's not. Do your research and look up more of his live performances before you label the man as untalented. You hear one live performance that wasn't very good and you automatically assume that he lacks talent. He's not a typical pop artist. For one he actually writes his own music which is sadly more you can say about 90% of today's pop stars.

I'm not even an R&B fan, so it takes a lot for me to like an R&B artist. As for him choosing to sing Forest Gump at Grammys, I have no idea what he was thinking. It's not one of his better songs. I don't know if he was singing to for shock value to get more attention because he's singing about a same-sex relationship or what, but it was obviously a mistake plus he didn't even sing it well. But his full catalog no doubt trumps one bad, albeit very visible performance.

I've listened to more live performances and find him to be a lot of hype honestly

The talent is in the album he crafted and WROTE songs for.

This was not a good performance, I'll give you that. But the way a lot of people seem to describe talent is just a great voice you're born with. Ocean is a song writer. And a pretty good one.

Because if you say its written from the perspective of jen-nay then he's singing it as a woman. fricking gay

The kid is gay. He caused a lot of controversy coming out. Performing this son on a huge stage is a way of standing by that choice. Bad choice and bad performance, not a bad artist.

Doc, you're outta control. It's clearly just not your cup of tea. That's fine. But Calling the dude untalented is just showing your ignorance and stubbornness.

Also, this :

Listen to some of the lyrics of his songs and actually think about it. He can write.

I thought FO was garbage also, but Stephen Jenkins from 3EB is a phemomenonal artist and a terrible live vocalist. I'd still consider him a talented artist.

That said, Stephen J is Lennon/McCartney next to FO
