Anyone have any recommendations? Hotels? Bars? Food? Any other things to check out?

Looks like we are flying up the 27th so looking to see what else we can do.

In Downtown Athens:
Georgia Bar, Magnolia Bar and PT Beauregard's are legit bars. LSU fans took over Beauregard's last trip there a few years ago.

For food, East/West and Last Resort.

for lodging, Hotel Indigo.

We're planning to make it down as well. I hear it's the best college town in the entire country to spend a football weekend. I'm sold

Looks like a 3:30ET CBS game, right?

Would be shocked if it wasn't, honestly.

Currently living in Athens:

Hotel - Indigo or Holiday Inn

Bars - walk all around DT but should hit Mags, All Good, Blue Sky, Boars Head, Pauleys, among many others.

Food - downtown has many options (Last Resort, National) and Five Points has some options (Five and Ten)

If you come to town and don't plan on leaving the downtown area the entire time except the game, you will still have a great trip.

Both hotels don't have any openings online. Probably have to call and check

There won't be any openings in actual Athens this late in the game. Gotta stay downtown, more than likely.

Best college town in the south, hands down.

Their fans can be real assholes though.

I got my hotel like 45 minutes after the schedule was released and within 3 hours that hotel was completely booked.

What do you mean "in actual Athens"? Isn't downtown Athens just a mile or 2 away from the campus?

you can book rooms then cancel them right?

I might do this with a couple of spots so we have our options open...
