I can't remember where I read it, but there was this article talking about this very topic, and they cited Schefter reporting Andy Reid going to the Cardinals as an example. They pointed out that there's this pressure to be the first to break a story that people don't do their due diligence and verify the info. On the flip side of that most people tend to not remember who broke the news, so it's sort of a pointless exercise.

Florio is reporting that Ryan to the saints is a "done deal"

the last sentence of that report-

That said, Ryan to the Rams was “basically a done deal.” And if we’ve learned anything so far this offseason, it’s that there’s no such thing as a done deal until the deal is done.

Maybe he's plugging leaks he noticed while on vacation.

Another thing I don't understand: Payton has ripped Ryan's defenses up before, and this is really the "lock" for the job? This just doesn't make sense to me.

He's still reporting his source saying that. I personally hope it's grantham.

Holder is shitting all over Schefter and I like it.

How did Holder shite on Schefter? Schefter said the Saints plan on hiring Ryan, and Holder tweets that nothing is finalized, which Schefter never said it was. I agree that Schefter could have worded it better (such as "Rob Ryan is the front runner for Saints' DC per source"), but he never said anything was done.

It's funny how to national media are always the ones the break stories about the Saints, and soon after the local guys have follow up info from their "sources".

Got that same tweet. SP said earlier that they had 2-4 people they were looking at.

The Rooney Rule doesn't apply to assistants so there's no reason to go through with interviews if they've already decided. Maybe Ryan is considered the favorite internally, but it seems pretty odd for Schefter to be saying it's a done deal this early in the process. Sounds like he's buying misinformation from a source he considers solid which goes back to my leak plugging theory.

Whether this pans out or not with Ryan, trust in Peyton's knowledge to make the best choice...

Why don't more people understand this? Has he been money on all of his DC hires?

Put it this way: women are usually a shite judge of how hot other women are. I had an argument with my wife about how Sarah Jessic Parker looked like a shoe, and my wife is like "NO! She's a beautiful movie star."
