@evansilva: #Saints RT @Gil_Brandt I'm hearing Rob Ryan and Romeo Crennel are @Saints top DC choices to run 3-4.

Please not Ryan. I want a disciplined defense.

Out of all of the names thrown around so far, Ryan is the only one I would be upset with hiring.

Crennell for sure, no Ryan.

However, if we get Romeo, a big huge NT will be a necessity in order to run his Gap 2 3-4. Will probably have to get one in the first round. Cam and Hicks can be Gap 2 DEs, but I don't think Bunkley can be a Gap 2 NT.

Seriously. I really have a hard time believing that Ryan is a serious candidate for us. Although they don't run the exact same defense, it's still a blitz heavy, man coverage defense; one that teams rip up on the regular.

I've flipped on this, and would rather have a proven DC that has a history of good D's as opposed to some new coordinator who has never been a D coordinator before.

That said, I don't think it will be Ryan. Just don't see Payton and his personality meshing

Rob Ryan isn't that great. He's living off his brother's and father's name.

It means the same thing for all intensive purposes, so it's a mute point.
