Makita

Get the baddest one you can afford.

Dewalt drills have incredibly shitty chucks.

Milwaukee or Makita 18v

IMHO, Milwaukee makes the best cordless and corded tools. Saving up money for a 28v impact right now

I have recently picked up a Rigid Combo set. Cost me 179.00 for the drill and impact with 2 lithum batteries and the charger. I don't make a living with my tools so i didn't see the need to spend a ton of money on them. I also like rigids lifetime warranty even on the batteries.

i have had the combo for about 6 months and no issues at all.

See what a new batree will cost. If u like it, hell get a new batree and save some cash. If u just want a new one, then by all means.

Will it take off boat trailer tires or is it not powerful enough?

I know the dewalt 18v impacts are pretty badass, but if you put lugs on like I do (breaker bar and cheater pipe) then they don't have nearly enough arse.

They are very handy though regardless. Great for working on stuff without a noisy arse air impact.

I'm going on a year with my 18v Rigid set, love it and haven't had any problems. The deciding factor for me when I bought them was that they warrant the batteries.

A few yrs back I went w 18v ryobi cordless tools – its been ok and now I have one battery type for drills, sawzall, skilsaw, weedeater etc. Overall the ryobi tools last and work are they as good as milwakee dewalt etc – prolly not but I only have one battery type for a number of tools. This is an improvement in having a diff drill sawzall batteries that would die and I would have to buy another $100 replacement, so when one battery craps the bed I have a backup. As a homeowner they have worked well enough, If I was a contractor I would probably choose another brand

My lion batteries seem to last 5+yrs and then die so I am going on my 2nd gen of batteries now
