Does anyone know where they were ranked during their college recruitment and whether or not they were recruited by LSU.

Jacoby Jones started his career at Southeastern before transferring to D2. I doubt we recruited him.

Jacoby Jones was not recruited by LSU and Reed was but went to Miami during our dark days when Miami would pillage new orleans

LSU wasn't nowhere near where it is today when Reed came out. The state of Florida was the place to go in that time period when Ed Reed came out. The same can be said about Warrick Dunn, Travis Minor, Reggie Wayne, Jovon Walker etc.

Any coach can recruit at LSU. LSU recruits itself, right?

Jocoby Jones ran track.

Started at SLU in Hammond, then transfered to DII Lane College to play football.

He was as under the radar as the come. Total return specialist that also excels at the go-route.

Safe to say Jones is the greatest athlete from the Marion Abramson Commodores ever?

Yeah I just find it funny when people still use the "Miles doesn't do anything; LSU recruits itself" crock of shite. People who say that totally disregard all of those years that LSU has been bleeding the top players in LA to OOS schools.

LSU would've been what LSU is now if they would've stayed. Recruiting is what has made this run possible.

Reed sr year was when Saban first came in
The U was an easy choice over LSU at that time.
Plus the U was taking care of players as well.

Jones would have been lucky to get recruited by SWAC schools. Had speed and about all he would have done at LSU would have been special teams.
Another Saban era recruit and he preferred the taller, blocking WR's.

I agree. Just look at the players I named in my first post in this thread. That's just a handful of players that got away from LSU in the 90's. Les is an elite recruiter who treats recruits with dignity and respect and parents eat that up. He's straight up with the recruits and having Frank Wilson doesn't hurt neither.

As long as we have Les at LSU, there won't be a flood of talent leaving the state.

Seriously doubt it given that their Dad played for Ole Miss back when the rivalry meant a whole lot more than it does now.

There are certain teams my children would not be allowed to play for (nor would they want to) even though we live in and love the states said teams are located in. Some rivalries are so deep they cross generations.
