Energy Secretary Steven Chu resigns

quote:

Chu’s departure had been widely expected and follows announcements by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Environmental Protection Agency chief Lisa Jackson and Jane Lubchenco, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, that they are leaving.

He was such a disappoint when he was promoted as a science-based policy advocate.

"BATON ROUGE - Shaw Group Founder Jim Bernhard told News 2 today he is up for consideration to replace Stephen Chu as the Secretary of the Department of Energy.

He also said there are other names out there to become the country's next Secretary of Energy.

Bernhard recently sold Shaw to Texas-based CB&I for more than $3 billion.

Chu announced his resignation from the post today, though his departure was widely expected after President Obama's re-election last November.

re: Energy Secretary Steven Chu resigns

I worked for Jim for several years and spent a lot of time around him in social and business settings. While I differ from him on politics I admired him as a leader and father. He took a lot of grief from people in the community for his often raw disposition, quick temper, and direct way of speech. All true, but typically the people he became angry with deserved it. He paid us well and expected a professional result. If you kept up your end of the bargain you would never have any problems. I never saw anything from him that would appear unethical in anyway and he would always have his family with him when traveling.
His no B.S. ways would be refreshing in DC, but probably would make his stay there short.
