| IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan: Family Of Five making $120K -$20,000/Year (Posted on 1/31/13 at 6:24 pm)
*Family of Five making $120K a year* And if you don’t buy it the government will fine you $2,000. These are the lowest tier plans, they have huge deductibles and high co-pays.
quote:
(CNSNews.com) – In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2015 for a family of five will cost $20,000 for the year. Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS. The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for family of five will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan. “The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says. Bronze will be the lowest tier health-insurance plan available under Obamacare–after Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Under the law, the penalty for not buying health insurance is supposed to be capped at either the annual average Bronze premium, 2.5 percent of taxable income, or $2,085.00 per family in 2016. LINK

I don't have any yet, but I'm sure I was the favorite. Fortunately for my siblings, they still got covered.

The platinum members are those that post on the OT. Seriously though. I am guessing the platinum will make the rich fat cats Obama despises; feel better after they flip the bill for the rest.

Exactly. There was a thread here about a month ago. The person had pre-existing. The bottom-line will be expensive, high deductible insurance or ObamaCare. HealthCare.gov

I have so many questions. Obviously not everyone is going to be paying 20k for their family so I wonder how the payments break down by income level. A family making 75k before taxes clearly can't afford 20k for insurance. A family on food stamps can't afford to pay anything. What will be the effect on businesses that no longer have to pay for insurance. Will they be required to pay their employees some type of "health care bonus"?

The $20,000 a year is the lowest tiered regular insurance after Obama regs. ObamaCare will be much cheaper. IOW only healthcare companies in with Obama will be ObamaCare and all others phased out unless dumbasses pay that much for about what you get now.

Easy, Obamacare comes straight from the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation.
