So he can work on football but can work on baseball is what you are telling me?

You think he didn't work out his body for both and weigh his options? That he just randomly chose to try and come back for football without any thought to baseball?

Again, he needs you on his side reminding him that baseball is a sport. That must have completely gone past him, with all the thought and dedication he put into getting healthy why didn't he give baseball a thought?

So he never threw simulated games in practice? You need to calm down.

He is a lefty that threw mid 90's on his fastball with a wicked slider

When are people going to realize that this is not that rare of a feat anymore? This isnt the 30's. There are a lot of leftys that throw mid 90's with movement.

You're right it's not rare in the sense that you are unhittable at all times like it was in the old days, but it's still a good starting spot to bring someone into their farm and help him progress from there.

Then quit correcting me. Each time you have tried this you were wrong.

Well given that he didn't play baseball in the fall, he wasn't practicing very much then. He also always did Spring football. The dude didn't practice very much. Even if he did, he didn't play ANY baseball in 2010, 2011 or 2012, and now we are in 2013. He also pitched 0 innings in a real game in 2007 and 2008.

if you want to say he could possibly pitch in A ball, thats fine, but you are blowing smoke out of your arse that he would have had a very successful career at the big league level which is just stupid.

understood. But people think that Chad Jones is just going to walk into a program and go straight to the top like he's something the Majors have never seen before. He has a load of talent, no doubt. But I think its going to be just as hard if not harder to make an MLB roster as it is an NFL roster.

Well, he didn't play football for any of that time either.

The rest of your argument, I agree that it's a longshot, but so is playing football again. I just think the risk/reward is a lot safer with baseball than it is with football.

Sorry that I don't agree with you.

Never said that.

The furthest I said was that I THINK he would make it to the MLB at some point.

Look, I'd be shocked if there wasn't anyone out there who isn't sincerely rooting for Chad Jones in "life" let alone a football comeback. I think the dogpiled comment about playing baseball was simply a quick assessment with the thought that, given the rigors of the NFL, baseball may have been a physically less demanding route for a guy to pursue. At least that is the way I took the original comment. In his brief period of playing baseball for LSU he was fun to watch as a hard throwing, athletic lefty, sporting the "dreadlocks of doom."

Barring injury, he would have made it to the majors as a late relief guy.

You said matter of factly that he would have made it to the major leagues. That is where you lost credibility for your opinino. If you think he could get a shot in A ball and bust his arse and maybe one day get there, thats one thing. But you said matter of factly that he would have made it to the big leagues based on 6.2 innings pitched in his entire collegiate career.

You took it as matter of factly, your problem.

You acting like he has no shot at baseball is where you loss credibility with me. In the grand scheme of things, why does that matter?

You are illiterate. You have tried correcting me and were wrong and now you are putting words in my mouth. Please copy my quote where I said he has no shot at baseball. I will wait.

Where have I said, he can't play football?

Your opinion: he has a better chance at football than baseball

My opinion: he has a better chance at baseball than football

But, yeah, I'm illiterate.
