| CVA Elite Stalker vs CVA Apex (Posted on 1/29/13 at 9:57 pm)
Is the Apex really worth the extra money, or should I buy the Stalker. I have the money for either, just curious if anyone has information about the differences in the two besides the look.

Here a link to a list of different 35 whelen Rifles. LINK From what I see the Apex is over all shorter.

35 whelen or 45-70. Haven't decided yet. Read a lot of reviews siting problems with the 35 whelen (stalker) when grouping at 100 and 200 yards.

I have heard of no problems but I would recommend the 35.

I have the Elite Stalker in 35 Whelen and I had no problems with site in at + 2 inches at 100 yards. then shoot at 200 yards and be right on center. also am using Horndy 200gr with a Nikon Pro staff 3x9x50 scope.

The problems I did hear about were because the scope mount people were using was moving because there were not screw on tight. Cva now includes the scope mount with the rifle to solve this problem.

Would yal recommend the 444 or the 35? Good question. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a 444 if its the better of the 35 or 45-70. Consensus seems to be stalker 35 whelen.

It come down to a person choice. 444 is a flat shooting bullet 35 Whelen is very close to shooting a 30.06 as far as ballistics

Next question, best place to buy the stalker in 35 whelen near Baton Rouge. I'll probably get the black and stainless or the camo and stainless.

Damn never knew that, thought it was more like an older 30-30. You can use the 35W during smoke pole season.

Copy from LWF website Effective with the 2012-2013 Louisiana hunting season, the following firearms are legal for use during the primitive firearm deer season: 1. Rifles or pistols, .44 caliber minimum, or shotguns 10 gauge or smaller, all of which must load exclusively from the muzzle or cap and ball cylinder, use black powder or approved substitute only, take ball or bullet projectile only, including saboted bullets, including primitive firearms known as “in line” primitive firearms, and 2. Single shot, breech loading rifles, .35 caliber or larger having an exposed hammer that uses metallic cartridges loaded either with black powder or modern smokeless powder. All of the above may be fitted with magnified scopes.
