Is this movie considered a cult classic and how does it compare to other Viking movies?

I don't think it's a cult classic, but it's a pretty enjoyable movie. I'd give it about a 7.75/10. It has some pretty sweet fight scenes.

Hell of a lot better than that Vikings vs. Native Americans movie... The name escapes me.

Really good movie IMO. Been a while since I have seen the uncut version though.

I've always wanted to name my son Bulvi and I loved it, up until they revealed the "dragon" was just cavemen it is one of those movies that kinda fell apart in the last act

Agreed. I was hoping for the "glo worm" to be some giant beast creature. It is extremely close to beowulf.

Interesting to me, and the book was originally titled Eaters of the Dead. It was very good.

It's supposed to be. Crichton did a real world version of beowulf. There's a lengthy foreword in the book about it.

Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.
