Johnny Robinson-S

One of the greatest Tigers ever and very few here know of the amazing Robinson legacy both at LSU and in the pros.

Thank you for making my day with your knowledge of LSU football.

Hard to go wrong with Johnny Robinson. 7 time Pro Bowler. 3rd most behind Kevin Mawae & Faneca (tied with Y.A. Tittle)

Absolutely right. He was bit before my time but my dad would talk about him with the same awe older LSU fans reserved exclusively for Billy Cannon.

I could be entirely wrong but I believe Johnny Robinson may have been the first LSU Tiger with both a national championship and a Super Bowl ring.

Its just good to see him acknowledged on this board.

From my era, 1985 to present:

QB Tom Hodson
4 time All-SEC, the only Tiger to do that.

RB Dalton Hilliard
RB Kevin Faulk

Running back ends up with two tailbacks, but I just can't leave either of these players out. Hilliard did play often in a split backfield.

TE Brian Kinchen
Kinchen is a sentimental favorite over Lafleur, mostly because he seemed to me to be more productive than his more highly touted brother.

WR Wendall Davis
WR Josh Reed

Davis’ 1987 and Reed’s 2001 were the best seasons I have ever seen for any team.

OL Stephen Peterman
OL Andre Whitworth
OL Nacho Albergamo
OL Alan Faneca
OL Eric Andolsek

Whitworth is the only true tackle to make it. I can't really think of dominant tackles, but we have had great guards over this span. Albergamo barely beats out Ben Wilkinson at Center and Kevin Mawae is hurt by playing on bad teams.

DE Marcus Spears
DE Sam Montgomory
DT Anthony McFarland
DT Glen Dorsey

I could come up with four more (Kenny Mixon, Ke-ke Mingo, Karl Dunbar & Kyle Williams) that would be just as devastating—we are that deep here.

LB Michael Brooks
LB Bradie James
LB Eric Hill/5B Tyrann Mathieu

I split the LB/Nickel back position, due to Mathieu providing his best plays from there. The defenses he and Hill played in were vastly different, and I not really sure how to correct for that.

CB Patrick Peterson
CB Morris Claiborne
FS Laron Landry
SS Craig Steltz

They are foundation of DBU.

K David Browndyke (perfect in 1989)
P Brad Wing (did it all in 2011)
