Johnathan Hankins, Ohio State 6'3 320

Johnathan Jenkins, Georgia 6'4 359

Jesse Williams, Alasomethin 6'3 320

How do you rank these prospects for the Saints? I have a feeling our pick at 15 will be one of the above.

I don't think we draft NT in the first round with Bunkley on our roster.

arguably the most important piece in a 3-4 system. Bunkley didn't play all that well last year. He's possibly a cabable starter but for how long? He's on the lighter side, how will he hold up, will he take on enough blocks for the rest of system to thrive? Even if he starts day 1, we really have no viable backup IMO anyways. I'd like for Hicks to be put in a position to focus solely on the bookend of the line and not be moved around. Hicks is a physical freak who can thrive there.

The comparisons of the 3 ib tgus CBS NFL Draft profiles is Williams -Wilfork Jenkins-BJ Raji Hankins- Brandon Mebane.

I could live with a Wilfork!

Well we know the Saints have talked to Brandon Williams at the Senior Bowl, who will go later. So maybe they think they can do better later on.

I think they will pick the BPA that fits some need, so it just depends who is there.

Isn't Jenkins known for taking plays off?
Hankins seems well regarded and don't know anything bout Williams.
NT or OLB 1st rd.

Hes 359 pounds. It would be impossible for him not to.

A 359 pound college players is very concerning. However, I don't even know if you would want him to play every down. NT on 1st, 2nd or obvious rushing downs, and then Hicks plays NT on passing downs? That's if we play Gap 2. He wouldn't be anywhere near a Gap 1 system.

Bunkley's best years were when he was the NT in the Broncos 3-4 defense and was reported as he looked natural there

I too think Bunkley will do just fine as our #1 NT. I think we absolutely need to go rush OLB with the first pick considering how deep this class is.
Now I would not mind grabbing the best abailable NT with the #3, someone like Gathers out of GA.

People still think the Broncos main defense was a 3-4 that year with Bunkley? Go look up the Broncos depth chart from last year. You will see that they played a 4-3, and that one of the DT's is listed as a NT. This is the exact same defense as when Bunkley was there the year before. He was listed as a NT, but it was a 4-3 NT.
