I think LSU coaches saw on film how vulnerable we were to passing attacks. However, it seemed pretty boneheaded from my vantage point for y'all to stick with it when it was clearly not working. Your QB had no time, and when he did, he was off-target. I do think we played the run pretty tough considering the running game we were up against, save for the two big busts which unfortunately led to TDs.

At the very least, running the ball might have stopped us from holding the ball for nearly 40 minutes or whatever that number was.

Were you surprised the RB that was lighting you up failed to get a carry in the 4th quarter?

So if they are mediocre and beat us, what are we?

A top tier program that had a bad game?

Pretty patheric! Lets make a tombstone of a meaningless bowl game. It just tells you the quality of that program!

LSU has a wall lined with acknowledgments of useless bowl wins. Not sure this is much different.

That's an expensive way to celebrate mediocrity.
Exactly. Admittedly, I'm a littl ebit pissy about the game, but I'm glad LSU doesn't do shite like this.

I wish they had more names in the stadium though. Faulk, Tittle, Van Buren, Taylor, all could be up there by now.

Yep but it's not like he had that many opportunities, either. What did y'all run, 6 plays?

Can't help but laugh at the idea that tombstones are too expensive, like major college football programs are too poor to spend money on some gimmicky decorations... Both Clemson and LSU (I assume) have spent millions on indoor practice facilities that are probably used for official practices a handful of times per year, and y'all think a tombstone is too expensive?

If we (LSU) don't like having our school's name on a tombstone on Clemson's campus, don't lose the game. I mean, what's to make fun of, they're not Ole Miss with a fake championship. They won the game, to the victors go the spoils.

Hopefully Miles has a picture in the weight room, although I don't know how much more offseason motivation could have been possible after 1/9. It's pretty simple. We're a top tier program, quit belittling them and take the loss like a man.

They won on that night, we didn't. Hopefully we can get another shot in the near future.

Looks like ours is older and has a stricter entrance requirement.

Since then, before leaving for all road games in which Florida State is the underdog, all road games at the University of Florida and all ACC championship and bowl games, Seminole captains gather their teammates to explain the significance of the tradition. Victorious captains return with a piece of the opponent's turf to be buried in the Sod Cemetery outside the gates of the practice field.

Funny because we've run 100 plays several times the past two years and I've never seen players hitting the floor like LSU's. And if LSU's offense sucks so bad, then I don't see how they're unbeatable when they try hard. They scored 20+ on some pretty good defenses like Bama and SCar. Moreover, letting a team go out on national TV and not try sounds like a pretty serious coaching problem, which reflects as poorly on a program as having bad players would.

It is a lot easier to run 100+ plays on offense then defend against 100+ plays. I am not saying LSU did not try. I am saying Clemson was way more pumped and invested a lot more into that game then LSU. If you read my previous posts I also said it was a big win and Clemson should be proud. If you watched the other SEC v. whoever bowl games the SEC looked flat and played without care while the other teams were treating it like a championship game. UGA v.Nebraska, Miss. St v. NW, USCe v. Michigan, and Florida v. Louisville all come to mind. Fact of the matter is whether you want to admit it or not the SEC is NC or bust and when other conferences play the SEC they treat it as a championship game!!! Which was the case with your wannabe real Tigers!

10-2 entering that game...clearly not unbeatable and that is because our offense sucks!

You misunderstood. I meant opposing defenses did not hit the floor like LSU's, despite the fact that we ran 100+ plays on them. What that indicates to me is that LSU was pushing it more than those teams because it was a big matchup.

I think the whole "looking flat" thing is a lame excuse. The truth is that teams "look flat" almost every time they lose. (Note - I said "almost.") I did not watch any of the games you mentioned other than ours and some of the Sugar Bowl, so I cannot comment on them, but I can say that LSU most definitely did not "look flat" in the Peach Bowl this year. Their players flew around the field, laid the wood, talked trash, got in fights, and ran themselves until they were literally too exhausted to play any more.

LSU expects to play for the national championship every year, I get that. But I absolutely do not think they weren't trying in the Peach Bowl. I think that's a lame excuse. I also don't think LSU's expectations are the same as the rest of the SEC's. LSU, Alabama, and Florida may feel that way, but none of the others do, nor can they.

I don't know if this has been said but there is a cemetery literally next to Clemson's stadium. Perhaps this is why it is called "Death Valley" and why they choose to create tombstones for their "significant" victories.

Not related, as far as I know.

It would be badass if we had a tombstone for every win in TS and just had a massive graveyard next to the stadium.
