Just a few remaining sunrises and sunsets left to the 12'-13' deer and duck season. As the final calender pages are crossed through empty freezers everywhere scream to be filled. Hunters try to resist the temptation of "settling" while others look to get their final piece of the pie. Soon guns will be replaced by fishing poles for some, while others will pursue smaller game and turkey well into the spring. Green heads, slick heads, freak nastys and divers will soon breath a sigh of relief but for now......

Genesis 9:2
"2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered."

Oleyeller - where in MS do you hunt? According to W&F deer season ends for the whole state this Thursday. You better check before going out again after Thursday.

Haven't given 2 thoughts to turkey hunting but the thunder chicken behind me that just gobbled made me giddy. Woods seem very alive this morning.

Oldyeller -

LINK

Look here. If I read correctly its Jan 31.

Nevermind - you're in the Southeast. You do have time left. With the way my seasons been, I don't know if I'd want that much time left.

Ha no prob and yea i know what ya mean. First part of season was decent. Seein deer, starting jan1 my idiot neighbors decided to start clearcutting all the land around my little piece.. We talking a couple hundred acres of large pines. Needless to say my hunting has went to shite and not looking to improve.. O well a day in the woods is better than a day in the office

55 degrees
Ladder stand
45-70

Dropped a doe at 80 yards trying to cross the shooting lane. Fog cleared up enough for me to get a shot.
I hope everyone has the same success.
