Is Ole Miss going to be a real contender and did the hardest division of College Football just get harder for LSU?

Your thoughts on the best recruiting class in Ole Miss history....?

Yup. Pretty sure next year's #1 prospect won't happen to have a brother on the team either.

Programs aren't built with a few 5* players. Statistically, half of those guys will bust and won't even have an impact. Ole Miss had a QB who has won 2 Super Bowls and they still couldn't even win the SEC West. That right there tells you it's not just one guy. It's not the top of the class that matters, it's the other 20 guys.

This. It also takes more than 4 5 stars and a bunch of 3 stars too. I'll take our 21 four stars over that group everyday of the week.

IMO, our class (right now) is a top three class in the country. UFs is slightly better and the number 1 class. If we can finish with Bower, Carter, Burns, or Jackson, and a greyshirt from Riley, we are sitting very pretty.

very top heavy.....2-4 5* recruits and then a crap ton of 3*. Step in the right direction, but they lack depth and once the novelty of a new system and hope (which is a big deal in CFB compared to NFL) wears off, I expect them to be middle of the pack.

No. They will be the trendy "darkhorse" pick, but as mentioned above, Bama and LSU have 4 full classes of studs. OM has 1 class that is probably 50% studs and the the other 3 are rough at best, but try hard and overachieved this year. I know people want to say OM is rising and will be near the top, same with aTm, but step back a sec and realize that OM went 7-6 this year and that's with two dumpster fires in the division at teams that aren't usually that way. Expect Auburn and Arky to be better as well. Same can be said about aTm. Step back and realize that their best year in the last 20 effectively got them 3rd in the SECW behind LSU (who had a down year) and Bama.

The SEC West will always be a challenge, but I don't expect LSU to be taking steps back and some of the other teams still have a few years before they catch up and consistently compete at the top.

He completely blew the A&M game way worse than Miles against Clemson and thats hard to do. I cant believe people arent calling him Elmer Fudd after that complete debacle. That game wouldve changed the entire SEC west and the bowl games. But the fact remains Freeze is doing a heck of a job over there and Ole Miss was very good last year and are getting better. Lets hope Auburn and Arkansas stay down for awhile.
Yes best class for Ole Miss in a quite a while and their best football team in quite a while as well. They are a top 20 program right now, but a contender for the SEC crown? Im not so sure about that but they will give LSU ALA and A&M a tough game and look for them to win one of these next yr.

A string of great recruiting classes always starts with the first one.

3-5 top level players on a team of average ones does not a dynasty make.

So far he is 2 long tds away from getting blown out by both LSU and Bama. He is more or less Dan Mullens with more cash for players.
