Looks to be a little small for d-line. How do you guys think he would work out as a MLB?

Very well, IMO. I hope he gets a look there first.

Freak athlete for his size. I think he could be an AA MLB at LSU.

Totally...plus he's already displayed leadership qualities, and his decision making thus far in the recruiting process makes me think he's pretty bright for a football player.

Bigger than Mingo was and equally big as Mingo is now. I don't think size is an issue as much as fit. It's nice to have those quick DE that can pursue RBs and QBs on the corners.

same question can be asked about Melvin Jones.

Anyone feel certain about where he will play? Athletic enough to play both.

Small for DL ... I think the guys covering the Under Armour game were saying he was about 6'4" 240 pounds.

Now I know he listed smaller on the recruiting sites but so was Frank Herron who showed up at the All Star game at about 260 lbs.

I think Beckwith best position in Chavis's Defense is going to be WDE. He moves well enough to become a huge threat off the edge.

This

Look at Leonard Little at Tenn. His sophmore and junior year he started at defensive end and his senior season he started every game at MLB.

Seems to be very athletic (played QB) and has speed. I would think he would be more suited to OLB.

With Rivers at DE, we're stacked. Might be worth giving him a look.

I think the guy is a hell of an athlete and could play DE or any LB spot if he wanted to do that.

He could probably play TE or a TB spot if he desired.

The guy is a heck of a talent.

This, and I think he could blossum under Chavis, but I also think he'd be a better DE prospect, as of right now. Chavis is the man, though, so who knows. Get em in, and the coaches will see where they fit the best.

I dont understand why everyone is saying people are too small for the d-end position? There are hundreds of things that factor in to success at the position. Neal will come in and make a statement against Herron and all the "big" guys on the line.

I'd like to see us try a superior athlete like Beckwith in different positions depending on down and sitance. Not at first of course, but in time.

I thought they should have done this last season with Mingo.
