It is tiring to be part of the discussion.
All I want to say is the PC community/platform opens more doors than the console does. Maybe some of you should check out Steam Boxes. The console game if the interface isn't improved will be next to dead in 5yrs. We want more connectivity out of our products. I think they understand this but the console companies might start feeling like cable companies 3-5yrs from now.

Yea we can all agree XBox really can see what we want as consumers. If I do buy a next gen console it will be a XBox because of this.
Saying this, the sense of community that Steam and the direction they are going really makes you believe they will bring new user interaction that the consoles companies wont provide.
Did you guys listen to Gabe from Valve on the TheNerdist podcast? Good stuff, listened 2 it twice in 1 week during my work commute.

maybe after 3 years, but by then the $300 PC is muuuuuuuch better than the console.
Think of it this way, the reason games don't look as good at the beginning of a console cycle is pretty simple, at the beginning of a console cycle the console is NO BETTER than the PC counter parts that are sitting in people's offices. The tech is new, the computer parts are new, and the devs have to learn the parts and get to know them, and have to code for them, like they code for PCs, a little less optimized, because they don't know how to anyways.
It takes 2-3 years for them to even FIGURE OUT how to optimize the console, but by that time, the PC market is 2 years ahead.. not to mention the consoles start with behind the times tech to BEGIN WITH!

I can definitely see your point, but like I just said, I don't see how a $250 PC could play UC3.

Yea it's just going to be a matter of preference. I like having the entertainment options because I am close to shutting off my satellite and just using streaming media. Plus I have my PC for my main gaming.
