QT and its not even close. I really like several nolan films (inception, memento, TDK) but I have really enjoyed every QT. Plus QT has a much broader range, and he writes and directs. And QT can write some awesome dialog.

Nolan focuses on directing, with his brother writing most of the stories. And the dialog is often times horrible, and his endings can suck (TDKR, Inception).

With all that said, I really prefer paul thomas anderson and the coehn brothers to either of them.

QT easily for me. Nolan has not done anything better than the opening of Reservoir Dogs.

Christopher Nolan or Quentin Tarantino

Nolan is better in the moment, Tarantino is better before the moment.

Tarantino's films come from script, writing and casting. Once he gets those pieces in play, the movies make themselves.

Nolan's films are more technically impressive, more philosophical/theoretical, and more innovative.

Tarantino does a better job of calling back to the roots of film genres.

"RIGHT NOW" would have to be QT, simply because "RIGHT NOW" it's against the Batman franchise and Django / Inglorious Bastards

IB and Django are both muuuuuch better than the Batman franchise:

That being said, Inception is better than any of those, and Nolan's other work is much better.

According to Deadline, Nolan is taking the script that his brother wrote, and combining it with his own original idea, and writing a new script (the movie will retain the title). Thorne is still on board as a technical consultant. As for the exact story, yesterday it was said that it will follow a group of explorers who go through a wormhole, in a story about time travel and alternate dimensions. While today, things are a bit more vague, as stating it will "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding."

and if you want to follow his brother currently, you could also jump onto his show he's co-working with Bad Robot and Abrams with, called "Person of Interest" ...

QT is unquestionably the better writer but I'd give the directing edge to Nolan.

I'm going Nolan because Tarantino is an overrated hack

I can easily see people/you not liking his style, but the dude in no way is a hack. That's too harsh even for those that don't like QT. Maybe Pulp Fiction was a little messy structurally, not that I agree, but even if it is, as a whole it is still a fantastic movie and was pretty freaking original. Which that in itself deserves respect. I'm not sure you would find many people at all who would completely agree with your opinion of him. Inglorious Basterds was a good movie, for multiple reasons, not just Waltz. The opening scenes was one of the most tense scenes in recent memory. It's pretty impressive when a director can accomplish that in a freaking opening scene.

Half of Nolan's movies haven't held up. It's hard to find someone who can shoot a movie better, but Tarantino's films will be on many lists for years to come.

It's only a debate for Nolan sycophants.

I agree with Tarantino being the better writer, but I feel like when the book is written on these men Nolan could possibly approach top 10 directors status. Tarantino will be just on the outside of that.

I really can't answer that. They're my two favorite directors. I could get how people don't like QT because he's so stylized, but when people don't like Nolan, I'm always surprised.

Tarantino writes one dimensional stereotypes

I completely disagree with that.

Nolan.

QT has changed from interesting and innovative to a director who only produces revenge porn.

Stereotypes wasn't the appropriate word.

His characters are incredibly one dimensional.

I love IG, Django falls apart near the end.

Inception was made after the dark knight, so it's not just IG vs batman. TDK is a pretty awesome movie in its own right. Definitely better than Django.
