They have subtitles? I took French in high school and college but unless all they're doing is saying the days of the week, counting, or naming colors I'm pretty much lost

Watched the first episode. Very gripping and visceral. The same aspects I enjoy about French cinema play well here- the casting of "normal/natural" types instead of Hollywood "bodies"(Haven't seen breasts like those onscreen since I was a kid and saw JoBeth Williams in Teachers and Kramer vs Kramer), and non-heightened reality in heightened circumstances. I haven't seen The Wire yet so can't compare and contrast but it has my interest.

Just watched the third episode and can't wait til the fourth. Can't believe no one is watching this. I know the subtitles will hinder some, but if you don't find them daunting it is excellent so far.
