Seems like everybody wants it and wants everybody else to pay for it.
I'd like to hear what you have or receive as an individual that you would be willing to give (increasing revenue) or give up (decreasing expenses) in order to reduce our debt?
I'll go first.
1. I get a home mortgage interest deduction I could live without.
2. I could prob. afford to pay my healthcare post tax.
3. I could volunteer my time and services at an organization that relies primarily on government funding to reduce need.
4. Assist more in supporting my elderly relatives in order make a public safety net sustainable.
I'm sure there are alot more. How could you make an impact?

Vote these pieces of shite out of office. Washington is the one that needs to sacrafice, not the taxpayers.

The only way to do it is to grow the GDP, grow the pie... That will only happen with a pro business climate....
ETA- The EPA, the DOE, IRS, ATF, income taxes (go to a sales tax) that should get us started...

So you think that if we all just give Washington more that they will use it to reduce the debt and not just spend it on additional things?

I would sacrifice completely... welfare.. social security and green programs. Out of debt in no time
Eta- didn't read all the way. I'm not on welfare or drawing ss benefits or bilk with a green program.

I would sacrifice my federal income tax in favor of a nationwide consumption tax. LINK

NOTHING until spending is cut and more people are brought into the tax system.
I think I speak for the board when I say that a majority of us here are the 47% that actually pay federal income taxes. We aren't the problem.

Never gonna happen real world. Besides people pay into social security. So your willing to give up what you paid in? That would be a good sacrafice.
