Follow him on twitter @OfficialCJ3 he responded to my post and even Retweeted my picture of he and I. He is my all time favorite tiger future class act. Pumped for him to try out and make a roster. The NFL deserves this guy.

I truly hope Chad Jones makes it in the NFL, although the odds are truly stacked against him. If no one picks him up this year, I would truly like to see him try baseball again as I feel he might be very successful in the MLB. A lefty that threw mid 90's with a very affective slider can make a lot of money in the MLB. I loved it when he came in to pitch he had that closer mentality "No one is going to beat me." I would love to see him try that if he doesn't get picked up in the NFL.

he was maxing out around 91-92 and consistently throwing in the 86-87 range on his fastball. he has a lot of natural movement on his pitches as a lefty, but i think a lot of people exaggerate his potential as a baseball player. i'd love to see him be able to do either one, but people are basing his ability to make the majors as a baseball player off of where he was drafted in high school (8 years ago) and 6.2 innings of work total in college (4 years ago). yes, he had some memorable moments in Omaha and one outing against Auburn in the regular season, and i feel like people inflate how good he was based really off of one inning against texas in the championship series. there have been a lot of former lsu baseball players with a lot more potential than him never make it out of A ball

I know he was a great football player, but why doesn't he give baseball a shot? Less chance of getting re injured IMO. He was a decent baseball player...

I remember when he was a freshman how they would talk about his athletic ability in all parts of baseball. Hitting absolute bombs in practice, etc. But he never could put it together as a package. Baseball is funny like that.

He is one of my favorite Tigers though. I'll never forget those K's in relief in the CWS followed by the Buzzy Haydel chest bumb
