Because there was no school today, and I was off I decided to take my stepson out to my deer lease to see if we could kill some squirrels or rabbits. While we were out there I planned on pulling my game cam and bringing it back home. No sense in letting it stay on the tree all year long. My wife had just gotten it for me last Christmas, and this was the first season I've used it...not a cheap one, either. Bushnell Bone Collector series. Anyways, we walked through the lease seeing shite TONS of deer tracks. I was really excited. I walked all the way to the tree I had strapped my camera onto, and it wasn't there. All at once, I lost all desire to spend any more time out there and we went back to the truck.

Not much I hate more than a piece of trash thief!!!

It was nice having one, but I'm not going to replace it. No sense in spending another dime if I know I can't be out there all the time to monitor who's driving their 4 wheelers through our lease.

yeah, never understood why someone would eave something like that out in the woods anyway. Just asking for it to get took.
Sorry man but that's just the way it is. That could have been a damn $20 piece of junk camera and it would have been stolen.

Too bad you don't have a trail camera. You might could get some pics of the thief

I know how much that camera cost. I bought the same one last Christmas. I'd be pissed too.

One way to avoid this is to climb the tree and hang the camera at a down angle on your corn. Most people will never see it. Those that do dont want to work to get it

I agree, don't let a $200 camera ruin the day with your step son.

i do understand what you're saying, and maybe i could have handled it differently. i didn't fly off the handle spouting off cuss words or throwing things at trees. i didn't walk all the way back kicking the dirt (or mud).

there will be other trips out there, so i promise he will have better experiences. this really caught me off guard

he's never hunted or really been out in the woods before i met his mom. he's now been duck hunting with me a bit as well as come out to the lease with me (when he's here) and as a direct result of me getting him interested in the outdoors his biological father has stepped up and started getting my stepson hunting apparel, weapons, etc. and worked out a few hunts for my stepson.

i'm glad his real dad has finally started to get interested in what his son is interested in rather than just let him sit in the house and watch tv all day long.

last year we had a ladder stand stollen from our property line. This year alot of clear cuttin has been going on the neighbors property. Now we see a stand about a hundred yards into that property. There used to be a cut trail that those property owners cut from our trai into their property. Looked like they used our trail that started at a road and then cut into their property. Looks like it went right to their (our) stand. I think we will be doing a night ops to check it out very soon and take it back. Will not be hard to determine if it was the one stollen.

I had two cameras stolen this year. I dont think I'm going to buy anymore. Just go back to the old days of looking at tracks and imagining how every deer was at least an 8.

go get a cheap one, and cover it in "the source" hot sauce. i guarantee you, the next time they go piss or rub their eyes, they'll pay for FAR more than the cost of the camera. your payback is in full! oh, and just say you coated it in hot sauce to avoid certain animals from fooling with your camera.
