Just 'fried' my first whole chicken in the infrared 'fryer'

And I gotta say that is now my favorite way to cook a whole chicken. It comes out like it was actually fried. Super juicy. Skin tastes amazing.

Anyway if you come across one of these things, they're pretty damn amazing what they do to meat.

Gonna try a backstrap in it next.

Interesting. I got one for Christmas an I did some wings in it and was not impressed. How'd you prepare your chicken?

That was the first thing I did in it also and I wasn't impressed either. But this chicken was off the charts good.

Just did it with a drunk chicken stand so it was standing up after marinating all night and putting a dry rub on it. I think that's why the wings didn't work as well. You've got to have surface area exposed all around.

Ten minutes per pound. Drop it in the chamber and walk away. Does it all without burning the house down.
