Just as ethical as anything else.

I think so. The only time I have done it is when we were trying to cull a bunch of does from the herd.

Honestly though, I see no difference between running dogs for deer and rabbit/tree rats/coons/quail/pheasants etc.

Except you may have 100 rabbits on a patch of land vs 20 deer

Why wouldn't it be ethical?

Because it magically makes all the deer run straight toward people sitting in the back of 1972 chevrolets with buckshot and beer cans everywhere

Thus there are different limits on the amount of deer and rabbits you can kill in a day

In the 70s and 80s there were a ton of clubs running dogs and people could still hunt and see 20 or 30 deer in a hunt. Nowadays nobody really runs dogs around here and deer numbers also seem to be on the decline. Hmmmm

Really?

GP owned 1700 acres down the road from me that my step dads club ran dogs on. It also wasnt a big deal to sit on a stand and see deer every hunt vs not seeing deer for 10 hunts.

Or maybe you were being sarcastic

Running dogs is ethical and fun as long as you dont have a bunch of dumb frickers shooting button bucks in the belly. Take clean shots only at deer you would shoot anyway.
