and actually make progress in FA this offseason (whether its one huge signing or a couple medium signings), this team could be set to make a splash in the coming years.

Sons, we have a young core and money to spend. I'm excited.

I'm fine with the team we have right now. Just roll with it. Maybe Pick up a decent shooter at SF and this team is set.

I so agree with this. Avoiding taking bad contracts that are not expiring (can those be bad?) this season and making at reasonable use of our cap space either this season or this and next (the `future' need to be `now' then), then we'll be on course to have the best Hornets team in history, I think.

All about Davis.

Those years and bone/bald-headed decisions are gone. We gonna be stacked! OKC watch out!

I'm nervous. We do have a bright future with money to spend but I'm nervous how we're gonna decided to spend that money. If we make the wrong choice, it will screw us over, if we make a great choice, it could take us to a whole new level. Big decisions are on the way. I trust Demps. But I'm still a little nervous.

Right now, full strength, I think we are a 8-5 seed at best. If we want to move up into "legit contender" territory, we have to beef up the roster a little bit.

Agreed. Davis, Gordon, and Rivers are all gonna need extensions in the same year and Dell has to be able to keep everybody.

Exactly. Even if most of our young guys reach their potential, I think we are a piece or two away from being contenders. We need a few more pieces.

Not worried about Davis at all. He will be here at least as long as CP3. The big question is if Gordon exercises his player option and if Rivers proves that he is worth extending.

.

And nah. This team has all the pieces except for MAYBE an upgrade @ SF.

One of the best players ever- Anthony Davis
Annual All-Star- Eric Gordon
Borderline All-Star- Ryan Anderson
Decent PG who is a leader- Vasquez
All we need is a top 25 SF and we are set if Aminu doesn't develop a jump shot(unlikely).

Heat
Best players ever-LBJ
Annual All-Star- Wade
Borderline All Star- Bosh
Decent SF who is a leader- Battier
Chalmers average/below average starting PG

Thunder
KD
Westbrook
Ibaka
Martin
Perkins

Yes. Let's not forget Anderson. That's one reason I wish we could replace Gordon with another strong player whose contract is `shifted' one year. It'd make dealing with assets near the next Davis extension easier since things would be spaced out more evenly. That extension may be far more important if he ends up where most think he will since the Hornets will have less leverage than they do at the end of the rookie series.

Davis will get the designated player deal, so that's a given. Then there's the other 3, and 2 if Gordon opts out. Anderson will likely command bigger bucks than Rivers, and if he doesn't then he's gone or we have a good problem with Rivers on our hands.

Either way, all of our fancy under the cap moves need to be done well in advance of all of that stuff.

Way too early to even think that.

We don't know that yet.

Lets see if he can keep this up.

This will likely be Aminu's last year as a Hornet. We didn't pick up his option for next season and his rebounding ability may get some team to overpay for him.

Yeah Ik our players aren't there yet but I think that's what they definitely can be. And Gordon's plays well enough when healthy to be an All-Star. Ik "when healthy" are the key words

i think Anderson is a borderline all-star (or he definitely will be) and vasquez is a decent PG with good leadership. those aren't outlandish claims, imo...otherwise, i agree with you
