She asks a decent question, he deflects still controlling the narrative how he wants, and she moves on without challenging him.

Actually he did give specifics on when he started taking as when he stopped. I guess you weren't paying very good attention.

He said "mid 90s". That's a broad range of years. Before or after he got cancer?

He pretty much admitted that by 1996 he had done HGH, steroids, cortisone, EPO and testosterone

Thought he said it had started by 94. Then again maybe I am hearing things. Definitely stopped by 05 according to him

It seems odd that he admit to doping in the years he won but deny doping in 2009 and 2010, years that he lost.

Um how did they change the sport for the better? They're currently viewed as outcasts.

I think the reason he dodged some of the questions and didn't go into specifics was because he has given sworn statements under oath saying that he didn't use drugs ect. Technically he perjured himself. It would be really stupid to start admitting details about certain things, especially if he has given sworn testimony regarding certain instances.

I think he just didn't want to rat out people who haven't already cinfessed. He's already beyond the statue of limitations for perjruy.

He cannnot admit doping in those years because Statute not up & could lead to more legal issues.

Statute has nothing to do with 2009 and 2010 since he never testified about doping in those years. The last time he was under oath was back in 2005. If he was lying about 2009 and 2010, his teammates who've already testified against him would know about it. One explanantion is that perhaps the peleton was relatively clean in 2009 and 2010.

:

Read on cycling site, if he doesn't admit to 09/10 & gets lifetime ban lowered to 8 years. The 8 year could be backdated to 2005 & be able to do his Triathlon-ing.

said over and over he was clean in 09/10 when he finished 3rd and 23rd

also said that was the reason for all this. If he hadn't come back he might have gotten away with it

while he was open about his personality and "bullying", he was also clearly trying to save face and would spin anything Oprah brought up into this "I know how bad I was" yet still hasn't answered WHY he fought the truth for 15 years

This is correct. The entire point of the admission is to get back on the Ironman circuit

Do you know of any athlete in the history of sports who voluntarily admitted to drug use while they were still competing?

But the problem with denying drug use in 2009 and 2010 is that the cat's out the bag already if he did, since all of his former teammates have already spilled the beans. I presume that his teammates only accused him of doping prior to his comeback, otherwise they would blow his 2009 and 2010 denials out of the water. However, the only way he could have gotten third place in 2009 without doping would have been if the peleton was clean at that point.

His denials are blown out of the water by his biological passport during that period.

Dude is still lying trash. Loved seeing Betsy Andreu crush him on CNN

I need to learn more about the biological passport testing. How time sensitive is the test? Could it be that it's good at indicating that a person has doped during his/her career without being able to pinpoint when he/she doped?
