Weepy , Melodramatic, Maudlin Sports Narratives intertwined with the game.

I'm so sick of this EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATIVE media bullshite in the middle of my damn football game.
Somebody has cancer.
Somebody has a learning disability.
Somebody's girlfriend died ?
Some autistic kid gets a game ball ?
I can tell you the EXACT GAME I decided to stop listening to Musberger and ALL this bullshite. It was in 2001 when he spent more time telling me that Oregon's hack qb was a piano virtuoso than describing the game. ESPN is nearly unwatchable at this point. That Grief-Artist Tom Rinaldi has single-handedly driven me away from ESPN Game Day.
I literally TURNED THE CHANNEL to another game every time ESPN/NBC attempted to bludgeon me with the Manti Teo faux-grief-fest. It's almost OBSCENE the way they put these people's tragedies and personal pain in front of me and tell me "this is the really important thing, not the game".
frick these guys. I'm here for THE GAME. Not the weepy fricking Media Narrative. If they care so much donate the freaking ad revenue to the autistic boy or the fake damn parents of the fake dead girl of the fraudulant -media-created football player.

Weepy , Melodramatic,
I'm calling a 8/10 troll job. This basically describes your whole post.

When a freaking football game is emotionally indistinguishable from an episode of Dr. Phil, I'm out. ESPN in particular, is pitiful.

Maudlin is a personal favorite word of mine

I am OK with it for events such as the Olympics or other sports/events that draw a larger female audience, but agree that we do not need drawn out narratives related to all sports.
They have been doing for years so it must be a good business practice (Disney, ESPN's parent, is publicly traded).
