ill take it as a good sign that people are bitching about a perfectly fine tv analyst after games now.

much better than the fire monty/no effort threads.

just waiting for the "serious question about AD's playing time" thread.

I wouldn't mind someone that is completely unbiased, but it seems to me like every time there is a close call, Wesley is advocating for the opposition. Sorry, but he is our HOME announcer (unfortunately), hence why he is expected to be somewhat of a HOMEr.

Please stop.

Why? Are my complaints about Wesley fouling up a thread that someone else started about how Wesley bothers them?

Yep, still not addressing the point. Feel free to post that picture that clearly shows it was a 2. Great job, corndick.

this has got you fired up?

quote:

his foot did look like it was on the line. wesley was just giving his honest opinion. I was pleasantly surprised they gave vasquez 3 shots

it was a close call. I thought his foot was on the line. so did wesley. if they call it a 2 originally it probably stays that way.

but they didnt. we were both wrong. I was happy to be wrong and I imagine wesley was too.

to me, it just seems a bit much to dislike an announcer because he thought a close call should go against the hornets.

Not at all. My response was not "fired up" at all:

quote:

Dude, that shot was inconclusive either way, probably more so on a 15 inch monitor. It was called three on the floor, so it is supposed to stay 3. Wesley couldn't wait to start clamoring for 2 free throws, though. It's not like this is the first time, either.

My sarcasm started in response to the "you people" type statement.

I agree, but Wesley was arguing vehemently that it was a 2.

I trust that you were. I really don't believe that Wesley was based on his commentary. I think he actually said something smug like "Well, that's another wrong call."

I would agree but it is not A close call. It has been, in my recollection, almost every close call this season. I haven't started a thread about it every time he does it. I'm a "negative person" for mentioning it in this thread, though. It looks like I may need to start dwelling on it here in order to justify my opinion to the ankle biters around here, though.

I thought that was for a missed foul that led to a celtics fast break after anderson or smith got obliterated going for a dunk late in the 4th.

It may not have been those words exactly, but I'm pretty sure he at the very least mumbled something after the call. I didn't record the game to verify, though.

He definitely said that the refs blew it numerous times last night, especially regarding calls benefitting the Celtics.

But he roots against the Hornets. At least he did once on a very, very close three point shot.

So because he was arguing something that he thought was how it happened, and he doesn't show hornets bias. That makes him a bad announcer?

Like I stated previously, I do expect the "Hornets announcers" to be slightly biased in favor of the Hornets. If you notice, the true professional of the team understands the concept. It also went beyond, "that looked like his foot was on the line. You can see no color between his foot and the line." There was no analysis like that, only "That was 2. That was 2." "Refs got it wrong." And I have said multiple times that it is more than this one instance.

Damn, you guys sure are concerned about another man's opinion about David Wesley.
