Firearms instruction: Houston or NOLA

Family member expresses interest to purchase a firearm and take courses, can anyone please list a few instructors or schools etc I googled but with no experience with them I do not want to just send my dad down there and not know who he is learning from. Thank you

In Houston the guys at Hotwells Shooting range do a good job. I also have been wanting to try out the Athena gun club...

Athena is pretty nice on the inside almost to nice. Makes me think of the Beverly Hills gun club from 48hrs...

VATA Group on the Northshore (30 min. from NOLA) is probably the best around.
