Who in their right mind would ever believe that a gun is ready to go after only a bore sight?

the only two that shocked me was the damaged bullet and the twigs.

I figured both of those were true.

This happens more than you think. When I worked at Simmons I had men bring rifles back up there and say, "you boresighted this gun for me and I missed a deer" Makes me want to slap them and take away their gun.

That happens a whole bunch.

Happens with bows a lot also. The average human is a dumbass.

This is one I've always used.

Rifle Shooting Myth 7: A Clean Firearm is a Better Firearm

I've seen this with many guns I've owned. I hated muzzleloaders because of this.

you have to clean a mz every two shots or it will start to fire poorly.

i think the myth was based on modern powder weapons.

Yea most people don't realize that a dirty barrel gun and spotless clean barrel gun don't shoot the same.

I had two damaged bullets last week (dropped em). I saved them for target shooting and hunted with the unblemished soft points. Good to know I can use them at normal distances, but they will still be the last ones I shoot if I use them.

I know that's why I hated them. But also after you cleaned it, that first shot was never on target unless you sighted in that way. Shoot it then clean it.

Maybe I am just too picky when sighting a gun in.
