Was he kicked off the team?

ETA: So does this mean that Desean Smith will start immediately?

Stokes will likely assume Clement's role as blocker but Smith should be the primary receiving threat and will split out wide some.

Travis Dickson got some playing time at the end of the year and looked good against Ole Miss with 5 catches for 69 yards. Also we have a former 3 star recruit in Dillon Gordon although he's your more typical blocking (and slow) TE a la Clement and Joseph but he's a big body (6'5). Maybe we can use him on short routes....if he can catch

He started on state championship basketball team, you got to think he has some decent hands.

we definitely need a dependable TE target for next years team.

It would be nice if we could fit someone balanced into the position

Desean Smith is considered to have some of the best hands in the nation

DeSean Smith had some of the best hands at the Rivals challenge and Army All American game, that's including every other high ranked receiver

Hate to see any of them transfer but if you are a TE really why stay?

Because he was a starter for a top program that sends kids to the nfl?

You do know tes are used for blocking rt? and we use them on most plays whether we are running or throwing. Catching passes doesnt make you a great te, it makes you a wr.

Why?

We'll never use him as a receiver. Les thinks that TEs are only good for blocking. We had one of the best pass catching TEs in the nation at LSU in Richard Dickson, and he was woefully underutilized. His brother had a great game against Ole Miss this past season, then disappeared against Arky and Clemson .

No he wasn't. Had a pretty damn good career here. Close to a 1000 yards and 10 TD's, better numbers than most TE's, plus he was injured for one year.

He dropped plenty of passes his senior year. Also we couldn't really throw it across the middle much because there was a good chance the D would be taking Lee's pass the other way.
