I've used a lot of different mounts/rings through the years, but if available, I now only use a Weaver base topped by Burris Signature Z rings. The plastic inserts used w/ these rings protect the scope from the scratches one usually experiences when mounting a scope and makes lapping the rings unnecessary.

For everyone suggesting Leupold, I saw a pair of Leupold rings and bases break off this weekend. Broke in the windage adjsutment. I have been told by gunsmiths that the redfield/leupold rings and bases are inadequate, which was a surprise as I thought they were the gold standard.

I use EGW rails and tactical rings.
