That's incredible. 1) Monte Kiffin is way beyond his prime and 2) Lane Kiffin threw his own FATHER under the bus at USC. I thought he was retiring but obviously he was forced out.

Looks like Anthony Spencer won't be franchised now and they could draft a DT in the first round. I could see them playing Crawford adn Ware at End and move Hatcher inside...release ratliff and not re-sign spencer.
The biggest hole the cowboys have to run MK's defense is their safeties are abysmal. you need some safeties than can cover half the field and come up and smack people hard.
I think they will be fine at LB with Lee and Carter. They could stick with Albright or Butler at the other position or try to pay Spencer and force him into a 4-3 lb which won't really fit well

The pro game has changed a ton since he last coached. Teams aren't running conventional offenses anymore in the NFL for the most part

my biggest problem with Ryan was ANY time he played a team that had non traditional elements in their offense he got rocked.
Qbs that can run? "I hate that college crap"
Elements of spread? "I hate that college crap"
A little zone read? "I hate that college crap"
Kiffin got eaten up by a variety of offenses at USC and I don't see him doing any better than Ryan at this point in his career.
This is a blatant puppet hire. May as well have brought back Dave Campo.

Let's face it, the guy doesn't have a clue and the franchise will continue to suffer from terrible decisions like this one. They need someone with a football IQ to start making smart decisions.
Kiffin makes absolutely no sense... doesn't fit their current personnel... MK hasn't fielded a solid defense in quite a while..
